Thank you Allyson. There is a gigantic homeschool world out there now. So many people are doing it everywhere. And everything you could possibly want is out there and available. Let me know if you have any questions. God Bless You!

I am so encouraged by this! I have been seriously considering doing a trial at homeschooling next year and using Sonlight. I think you just got another 'convert' to Sonlight! :-) What a wonderful blog you have; I just discovered it today! I look forward to reading more of what you have written and shared!
Blessings,
Allyson

Thank you so much for linking me here on twitter ~ great to read about your Sonlight experience, and to see photos & such as well! I was actually looking at 3/4 at first, but the strong focus on American history isn't a good fit for us [we're Canadian - not that we don't want to know any US history, of course, but it's not the best fit right now] so I took a look at core 5 and *really* like that one... just not completely decided yet... but thank you very much! :-)

Karen,
So glad I could be of help to you. Sonlight really fits the bill for us combining that God-perspective, solid history and great literature. Godspeed!

Thank you for your great coverage of Sonlight. We have homeschooled for ten years, but are considering making some changes with our youngest, eleven year old twins. Sonlight is something I have wanted to learn more about.

Thanks for sharing your experiences with Sonlight! I always love reading these kinds of posts. They are very encouraging [smile].

Tips for Sonlight? Just one: If you ever have questions about what programs and resources would be best for your family, feel free to chat with a Sonlight Advisor: http://www.sonlight.com/SCA.html.

Allison,

No- I use the same one for Patrick and Katie. It works out well because Christian is 6 years younger than Katie so I am just starting to reuse the cores with him. It works because the older 2 are very independent at this point. The hardest part is having 2 read alouds and that Patrick and Katie want to relisten to the read alouds that I am reading Christian.
I started with Core 1 and just worked our way through with the older 2. Because of CC we use it a little differently now with core 6 and up. It is more of a reading list for them. And we still do the SL Bible.
